How To Get There
Parking & Access
The Myra Canyon section of the KVR has 2 different parking areas.
The main entrance, known as "Myra Station", is where you can rent bicycles. Head towards Gallagher's Canyon Golf Course. About 3kms past is the turn-off to the Myra Canyon Forest Service Road. From there you will drive on a 8km gravel road to the parking lot. Open Myra Station in Maps
The other entrance, known as "Ruth Station" has less parking available and is further away from the trestles and tunnels. However, it is nearer to the historic railway work camps, Camp Morrisey and Camp Huissi. This entrance is located 4 kilometres up the steep Little White Forest Service Road. What To Expect
The Myra Canyon Explorer is a self-guided journey through one of the most scenic and historically rich sections of the Kettle Valley Railway. Spanning 12 kilometres (each way), the trail is wide, gently graded, and suitable for walking, cycling, and families of all ages.
When you arrive at either Myra Station (more parking) or Ruth Station look for the "Welcome" sign. It will be beside the yellow entrance gate. Scan the QR code to download the Myra Canyon Explore guide. See below to download.
Along the route, you’ll cross iconic wooden trestles, pass through rock tunnels, and take in sweeping views of the canyon and surrounding landscape. At each marked Points of Interest, trail-side signs invite you to unlock stories, photos, and insights on your phone—bringing the history of the railway and the people who built it to life.
Plan for 2–4 hours depending on your pace and how deeply you explore each stop. There are pit toilets in the Myra and Ruth parking lots, near trestle 8 and just past trestle 1. No other services are available, so come prepared with water, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing.
Whether you’re here for the views, the history, or a memorable outdoor experience, the Myra Canyon Explorer offers a unique way to connect with this remarkable place at your own pace.
